Ecole d'été CauLaGe 2026 à Peria (Géorgie) du 3 au 17 juillet 2026
This summer program "CauLaGe 2026" is a joint effort of CNRS (France) and Batumi State University (Georgia) and has the following goals:
- introduce Georgian students to formal methods of language description and documentation
-
give students—Georgian or otherwise, hands-on onsite training in linguistic fieldwork on an understudied language
-
foster linguistic work on Abkhaz
-
foster enduring collaborations with Georgian scholars
To this end, we have designed a program of classes which will familiarize students with Abkhaz grammar and provide brief introduction to all major subfield of linguistics in the morning and leave enough time in the afternoons to work with speakers of Abkhaz under the supervision of more senior scholars.
