Linguistic fieldwork summer program en Géorgie (CauLaGe) 18-31 août 2025
The CauLaGe Summer Program is a collaborative initiative between CNRS (France) and Ilia State University (Georgia). Our primary goals are:
-
Introducing Georgian students to formal methods of language description and documentation.
-
Providing hands-on fieldwork training on an understudied language for both Georgian and international students.
-
Promoting linguistic research on (Tsova-)Tush.
-
Building enduring collaborations with Georgian scholars.
The program is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience through:
-
Formal Linguistic Training: Structured morning sessions focused on general linguistic subfields and Tsova-Tush grammar.
-
Practical Fieldwork: In the afternoons, students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on fieldwork with Tsova-Tush speakers, under expert supervision.
-
Collaborative Learning: Students will work closely with leading linguists and scholars, forming lasting collaborations that extend beyond the summer program.
